In order to build mass there are some very easy and vital essentials that any builder must follow. In doing so, you will see the desired results which in turn will give you the boost you need to keep progressing. While the hardest part of starting any routine is getting started, it is imperative that you just take the first step. After all, you will not go far just standing in place. Chances are you are not considering your need to build mass because you want to look good in a magazine. Perhaps you are considering it for that reason. However, it is more likely that you have goals and aspirations that include a healthy, fit body that is muscular. To achieve your goals it requires some basic essentials.
Most obviously, weight training will be a part of your routine. Free weights over machine resistance is highly advised. Heavy weights, and not the heaviest on the rack. Weights that are heavier than you have been using. In doing so, and combining the weights with lower repetitions, you begin to challenge your muscles, putting them under the proper stress needed to engage muscle fibers not normally worked. Challenged muscles produce rapid muscle growth.

Eating more calories, fat, protein and more often. A body trying to build mass needs fuel and energy. Your body needs calories to burn to build muscle. In order to build muscle, it is recommended that you consume about 20 times more your body weight in calories. Protein beaks down amino acids. High quality protein should also be a staple in your diet. To build mass, your body needs protein. It is recommended that you consume 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. Eat fats. Dietary fats are essential because they help with the production of testosterone. Testosterone production is needed to be able to build mass. Eat more often! By reducing your meal size, and eating more often, you provide your body with essential energy needed throughout the day. Energy is needed to build mass. By drinking more water, taking vitamins, antioxidants, resting more often and staying consistent, your ability to build mass will stay consistent, providing you the results you desire.

There are many strategies for building mass and not one method will work the same for everyone. It takes patience and sometimes trying many different methods until you find the combination that works right for you.
