Arthritis sufferers have been trying just about any type of drug to relieve their pain. These drugs address the issue in different ways but there are two things that they have in common - little long term relief and lots of side effects. It is no wonder that consumers have been turning to something that has been proven to work naturally and without the side effects - arthritis fish oil. As in most true natural cures, it attacks the causes and not just relieves a few symptoms.
In its simplest terms, Rheumatoid arthritis [RA] occurs when the linings of the joints get inflamed. It has been with us a long time. The first published treatment of arthritis was in 1775. The recommended cure was cod liver oil. There are two points here. The first is that the taste probably drove many people away. The second is that it seemed to work.
What they did not know was that they were recommending the first arthritis fish oil supplement. Cod liver oil has fallen out of favor because of the high levels of Vitamin A that it contains. Enough of it can actually be toxic. Modern day supplements are sourced from the flesh [not the liver] of salmon, mackerel, tuna, sardines and other cold water fish that are rich in the same nutrients - omega 3 fatty acids. research
These fatty acids may be the best natural anti-inflammatory agent that we have. Although there has been a lot of omega 3 since 1775, it has been studies of the past twenty years that have caught the attention of health groups all over the world.
Just recently the at the Annual Congress of the European League Against contracting Rheumatoid Arthritis. It was found that, based on a large study in Sweden, adding these essential fats to the diet reduced the risk of RA by 20-30%. Other research has shown even more encouraging findings.
There are Rheumatism, it was shown that the omega 3s in fatty fish are related to a smaller risk of products out there that say they are arthritis fish oil but that is really a marketing ploy. It is the omega 3s that count. They are the same no matter what you call the product; they also have the same benefits. There are no special omega 3s just for joints.
This actually is a good thing. Omega 3s can provide relief from RA but it helps numerous other diseases too. Remember, it is a great anti-inflammatory, which means it helps the heart, brain, eyes, skin and lungs. As an example, the A.H.A. recommends them to fight cardiovascular problems. This is worth noting. People with RA are more at risk of heart disease than the general population.
Here are some things to consider about arthritis fish oil supplements. Some health professionals believe several grams per day is the dosage that is needed, especially if you already have arthritis. At these levels, you can not aff
Research in areas where fish oils for arthritis was used, indicated ord an inferior product that has chemical additives or ocean toxins in it. that it took about three months of consistent use before improvements became really noticeable. These benefits will continue to increase with time. In other words, do not stop the program. Don't worry, you will not want to.
