Here are top 15 most common mistakes that people do in forums.

1) Not Reading Guidelines: Most of the forum users (newbie's) are start posting threads without reading forum guidelines, announcements and sticky threads.

2) Do not Search for other's topic: Before posting your topic into the forum try to search the other's topics. By this you know that topic is already covered or not. But this search is not done by most of the users so that threads are not approved by the administrator.

3) Promotion of own products: Do not promote your products or services or websites in the forums. If you promote your niche market here then you will be get banned from that forum.

4) Replying to thread: When replying to a thread, do not just agree with someone or do not use smiles or emotions. Many people find this incredibly annoying, and classify it as spam. If you can't say something relevant to that post, don't post. By this people will think of you as a spammer.

5) Advertising on the forum: Do not post and try advertising or selling your opportunity on the forum. Every one will see this as spam.

6) Obeying the rules: Posting on forums is a privilege that is granted by the web site that hosts the forums. If you disobey the rules that have been established by the web site for posting on forums, it is highly likely that you will be banned from the forums and not allowed back.

7) Mention your websites in threads: It is ok to mention your website or your product when posting on forums, but make sure that your site is relevant to that thread. If it is not relevant then moderator will remove your thread or some times you may ban from site temporarily.

8) Submitting large attachments or files: Do not submit a post that requires readers to download a large attachment. Either explain the attachment or, better yet, provide a link to the information.

9) Unmeaning title: Title should be small, meaningful and easily understood by user. It should be related to your topic.

10) Spelling and grammar: In order to be understood by most people, use correct spelling, grammar and avoid slang unless you know the word or phrase will be understood by other members.

11) Huge Signature: Do not use any affiliate links. Do not use a huge and annoying signature, a modest signature is fine, moderators may remove large ones anyway.

12) Double posts: Do not double post or cross post. So that moderator will remove your post.

13) Posting private information: Do not post any information that you want private. Posts should not contain personal, identifiable information or content embarrassing to others.

14) Posting empty responses: Do not post empty or useless responses, such as just "lol" or "cool." Only post responses when you have something to contribute.

15) Spamming: Do not spam in the forums. Spamming gets you banned from forum and never allow you back.
