Grilled foods are always a huge success at every gathering with family and friends. What isn’t such a great thing is the idea of tending to an outdoor grill during bad weather. This is why the birth of the electric indoor grill is considered as one of the best news cooks and party hosts have ever heard. Indoor grills allow you to enjoy barbecue parties at any time of the year, rain or shine. It is also a very good way of enjoying a healthy and delicious meal without having to deal with the smell of smoke usually associated with the use of charcoal and fire. Here are some tips on how to make the most out of your indoor grill.

Most indoor grills are hinged devices with a grill at the top and on the bottom of the appliance. Before plugging the grill into an electric socket, wipe down the grilling surfaces with a damp paper towel or cloth to remove all traces of dust. Once the surfaces are satisfactorily cleaned, close the lid and then plug the grill in. Most indoor grills have a signal light that tells you when it is plugged in and heating up. When this light turns off, it means that your grill is now hot enough to use and you can start cooking.

There are also a few factors to consider when cooking meat on an electric indoor grill. First, make sure that the pieces of meat to be grilled are not too thick because this may result in burning the outside of the meat before the inside is completely cooked. Another tip is to spray both sides of the grill with a non-stick cooking spray before putting on the meat. Take note that most grills can cook meat in about two to three minutes, so be sure to check on your meat within that time and just grill longer when needed. Hamburgers, thin steak and pork chops, chicken breasts, and sausages work best with an indoor grill.

You may also cook vegetables on an indoor grill. Just remember that vegetables cook very fast on a two-sided grill. The best way to cook vegetables on the grill is to arrange them carefully on a skewer to prevent them from sliding around on the grill. Just as you do with meat, spray the sides of the grill with non-stick cooking spray before cooking and check on the vegetables after three minutes. The best vegetables to cook on an indoor grill are mushrooms, zucchini, peppers, and onions. Cherry tomatoes may also be grilled.

Never forget to clean your grill properly after using. While it is still warm, scrape off bits of food with the plastic scraper that usually comes with the grill. When the grill cools down, wipe off the remaining grease with a damp paper towel. Next, dip a clean washcloth into a little soap and water and then wipe down the grill again. Remove all traces of soap by wiping the grill with another wet cloth. Never touch an electric indoor grill while it is still hot and never immerse it in water. Simply follow the above tips, and you are sure to have a grilling good time!
