One of the most tragic events in a person’s life could very well be the loss of a wife. It is even harder when that loss did not come from passing away but from divorce. Christian marriages all over the globe are ending in this very way. That could be the most horrible testiment to what sort of love Christians are showing to each other.
The sort of love that leaves you is not the type God has commanded Christians to have for any person. That form of love must not be what we have in our Christian marriages. As a substitute we must be living out what the Bible preaches about a love that never fails.
So why do Christian marriages end in divorce? If we could figure that out then possibly the globe would be changed. Imagine if the simply group of people in the world that did not divorce were Christian marriages. It would change everything! As we teach our children about how to love like God loves the globe would see that and want it. A marriage that stays together no matter what the problem is a strong witness to the power of love. Coincidently the Bible states God is love.
There are numerous things that are brought up when it comes to why Christian marriages end. One of the biggest reasons given is sin. Often the wife will catch the husband in a carnal sin. Possibly he was searching at something he should not have been. This will since her to feel a great range of emotions. She may feel hurt, anger, sadness, betrayed, she can even feel like her husband does not love her because he wants to stare at others.
Other times a woman could be too wrapped up in her children or feel the want to get out and spread her wings. Women on occasion feel like their husbands hold them back. Numerous men do not let their wives work believing it to be against the Bible. While that is not true this may also be an region of contention.
Whatsoever the issue is our feelings are always key to the end of our Christian marriages. While we ought to feel good feelings about our marriage it is not always the case. There are demanding times that come and challenges to face. Real love is not based on emotion though.
The Bible offers us some clues as to what real love does. It may be found in the book of 2 Corinthians. No place in this do we see that love is built on emotion. As an alternative the Bible says that love is an action and not an emotion.
Maybe the real reason Christian marriages end is not from a lack of good solid Christian marriage advice but rather from a lack of understanding how we are meant to go about loving each other. It is a choice we must make in the good quality and the bad times.
When one person hurts the other love covers a multitude of sins. Your Christian marriage may live on through forgiveness, which you need to have if you are a Christian. Marriages the globe over could be saved if we simply followed how the Bible tells us to love.
