Few months ago I read Malcolm Gladwell's popular book Blink. It's about the power of first impressions.

It begins with the narrative of an ancient Greek statue that was about to be purchased by the Getty Museum at $10M. The museum performed all the normal background research to ascertain its authenticity. After 14 months of exploration, the museum staff made the conclusion that the statue is genuine and proceeded ahead purchasing it.

However an art historian named Federico Zeri who was requested to see the statue instantaneously he determined it was a fake. Two more art historians sensed it was a fake based on their first impressions. Further investigations were pursued and finally it was discovered that the statue had been sculpted by forgers in Rome. The group of analysts who performed the 14 months of investigation turned out to be incorrect. The historians who depended on their early impressions, on the other hand, were accurate.

One of the insights I acquired so far in my business journey is to take note to my intuition. It's not most of the time flawless but had I listened to my intuition I would not have wasted so much time and effort pursuing hopeless bizopps.

There was one guru I trusted because his teachings vibrate with me. I studied most of his free reading materials and I waited excitedly for the releasing of his much awaited system. I waited and waited for many months but he won't lack reasons for withholding the launching. After many months of waiting I decided that it was by now hopeless waiting for the reason that the guy appeared to be a perfectionist and his system will never be perfect. Had I recognized to my intuition earlier, I would not have spent much time waiting.

Usually, intuition is the determining factor between failure and success. Although we don't entirely understand what intuition is, at the gut level we all know that it is there and we can use it whenever desired.

We all experience, from time to time, circumstances where we should make a major decision in spite of the absence of sufficient information. We still ought to act in spite of uncertainty and haziness. However, an erroneous turn could have unwelcome cost.

Much has already been published about how to nurture intuiti
on. In view of the fact that I haven't proven any of them, I can't recommend them. However, as a Christian who tries to follow God's leading, I find the Bible a useful guide.

Psalm 37:23-24 states "the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighted in his way. Though he falls, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with His hand."

As we seek God's leading in our lives and as we sharpen our intuition, even if we don't succeed, from time to time, God is always there upholding us. Romans 8:28 states "Everything works together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose."
