Where did you get the idea that you need to pay 5 dollars just to have a nice scented and colored candle when you can easily learn the enjoyable craft of candle making, at home! Making candles in the comfort of your own home can turn out to be a fun hobby, whether you want to create some for yourself to enjoy or make them as gifts for your loved ones. Candle making is a great hobby for you to make sure that you get candles just the way you like it -- with the ideal blend of scent and color. Furthermore, it's a great way for you to increase your ingenuity!

Creating beautiful homemade candles entails some experimentation and some effort, but as soon as you find out how to make them right, you'll learn that its worth every bit of exertion you put to it! When I started out making my own candles, it was at the arrival of the Yankee Candle explosion. I am one of those who find the scent of commercially-available candles overpowering and highly perfumed. Still, I don't wish to purchase those dull and boring white candles. So I embarked on a "quest" and started experimenting. I wanted to create the perfect candle - mildly fragranced, comforting and vibrant ! The more I played around, the more I became hooked to this wonderful craft.

Here are the top reasons why making your own candle has become a much-loved hobby:

1. One of the amazing things about making your own candles is that you don't need to purchase tons of ingredients or eqipment to get started. You just need a few basic stuff that you can easily find in the kitchen -- a stove (or any heat source), a bunch of wicks, essential oils or scent and color and you're all set! If you are ready to take things to the next level, you can buy a candle mold at a store. It can prove to be a helpful tool, but it's really not necessary.

2. The great thing about creating your own candles is that you can personalize them in any way. When you buy candles at the local store, you'll find out that you are typically stuck with a particular fragrance for a single color. For instance, coffee and cinnamon smells might be brown while ocean scents may be blue and melon might be green. What if you especially have a weakness for flower scents don't particularly like the color pink? If you plan to purchase your candles from the store then you are out of luck! Yet, if you produce your own candles, you can choose to create maroon lavender-scented candles and make your honeydew candles blue, plus you can select colors that will add a nice touch to your home's ambience.

3. Now you can justify playing around, experimenting, and making your own rules! Go wild and change up the shapes, colours, sizes and scents. If you mess up, you can always melt the wax again and create another one.

There are many hobbies out there that presents an opportunity for you to boost your imagination, but so far, making homemade candles is the best since you can experiment and improvise as you get better. There would be no need for you to do things to the letter, or follow some rigid formula. It's this simple -- you just need a dose of fragrance and color and a sprinkling of imagination, and you're good to go!
