Last week, I received this short cigar review with the La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero 660 from Lt. Col. Mitch Fadem, who is currently deployed in Afghanistan. For all those who appreciate reading Dr. Fadem's certain cigar reviews, here's an additional 1 just for you:

I smoked a cigar tonight that I haven't tried to smoke mainly because March 2007. The reason I remember it is because it was given to me ahead of I deployed the last time. The cigar review is the LFD Double Ligero 660 from La Flor Dominicana. An additional reason I remember it is since it was the strongest cigar I had ever attempted to smoke. I mentioned attempted, not finished. I could not even smoke it over 5 minutes before I just had to put it down. It was way as well bold and full bodied for my palate at that time. Now? Because then, I have smoked Camacho Triple Maduro and recently the Cain Fuerte, a triple ligero. So, this evening when I was given the LFC Double Ligero 660, I was a tiny hesitant.

To my surprise as soon as I got past that very first 1/4 inch on the cigar it settled to a very smooth yet incredibly full bodied stick. It's following all a 54x4.5" stogie and smoked slow and cool right down to the last inch. The ash held for a single hour and I was only half way from your cigar forum. The taste was really nutty and rich and did not change. If there was any change, it got smoother at the mid-point. The total smoking time was 1 hour and 45 minutes, and for a short fat cigar, that was great in addition to as a good significance at around $6.50 each. This one was a gift, but it may possibly have smoked just and also the Cain's which are even now sitting in my humidor now for more than Three months. I have to smoke a Cain Fuerte tomorrow just to determine the difference.

This just goes to show you how your palate can transform over time. In fact, the cigar was so nutty that I had a taste for consuming nuts when I finished, and went back to my 8x18 box (that is my room or cabin or whatever you desire call the place we rest close to here) and ate some mixed nuts, unsalted. Right after consuming the nuts, I decided how the taste from the cigar was a combination of walnuts and almonds using a hint of sour cherries. Okay which is my mini-review for tonight.

Oh, another thing. I very impressed the guy that gave me the cigar and his cigar smoking buddies, whom I did not know. 1 of them lit up a cigar across from me. The light was poor, because we had been during the Destille Garden at night and there just aren't too many lights, so I could not see the band on a cigar. But I could see the shape, and the aroma once he very first lit it was really distinctive. The friend that gave me my LFD 660 told the sleep with the group how I was a actual aficionado, and they stated "prove it". So, I looked at the guy across from me that just lit his cigar and said, "You are smoking a La Gloria Cubana Serie R.". Of course I was right, and no 1 could feel that I knew just inside shape and aroma. I am either incredibly great or lucky, or both, or I have just smoked as well several cigars.
