Everyone hates feeling sweaty. In fact beyond the factor of simple embarrassment, excessive sweating and body odor can be very uncomfortable. Some have reported difficulty controlling excessive sweat no matter how hard they try or what methods they attempt. Many experience constant complaints from others about their persistent body odor. These complaints are often damaging to the self esteem and uncomfortable to explain to those unaware of the problems that cause it. Read on to learn some ways to combat excessive sweating and body odor and keep it from ruining your life.

Surgery is recommended as a way to cure excessive sweating and body odor, but only when everything else has been tried. You should, however, try all other options before surgery. It should not be your first choice. You can't always predict what other symptoms may arise when your sweat glands are surgically prevented from working normally. Sometimes, though surgery is necessary to get an overactive sweat gland under control. Your physician can advise you about whether surgery is something you should consider. After an episode of excess sweating or uncontrollable body odor you need to change your clothes in addition to bathing. The simple act of changing your clothing can cut down on body odor by quite a bit. This is because the sweat that causes an increase in body odor helps transfer the smell you are fighting to your clothing. The clothing soaked in your sweat can be icky feeling, wet or sticky. Having to spend time in damp and smelly clothing is very uncomfortable. So is it really a good idea to stay in those nasty clothes? Keeping a change of clothing handy is a good way to cut down on odor and sweat issues during the day.

After you have dried off your skin after your shower or bath, apply some talcum powder to the areas that sweat the most on your body. Yes this may make you feel like you are regressing to your infancy. The simple fact is, however, that talcum powder is good for absorbing moisture and odors. You should focus your powdering skills on those areas that sweat the most to help absorb excess sweat and stop that stinky smell. As you may know there are a number of scented talcum powders that can be used in place of perfumes or other body sprays. Nobody likes to sweat. Sweat might feel good once in a while or during exercise. Following that though it is icky and nasty. Pleasant is not a term that describes body odor. The idea of this happening despite our best efforts to stop it is in fact quite mortifying. There are still thankfully, many things you can try to help prevent the condition. Because we are all so different we will each experience different results with each treatment option. Don't stop just because one method didn't work. Eventually your solution will present itself. Eventually having to deal with sweaty skin and unpleasant odors will be a thing of the past.
