World Ventures was launched on December 10, 2005 from the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. The company quickly established itself as a leader in Multi-Level Marketing, and is now debt-free. They have made sales of over $150 million in their first 3 years, netting a sizeable chunk of the $8 trillion global travel industry.
The company sells Dream Trip packages to its members. In exchange for a one-time payment, and small monthly maintenance fee, members travel for wholesale prices. World Ventures says most members recoup the cost of their membership with their first two trips. The company also allows members to create ?mini travel businesses? of their own, and share in the wealth.
The LTC package makes members Leisure Travel Consultants, who then are authorized to sell Dream Trips and LTC packages on a custom website. LTCs are paid when they book travel through their website, and also when they recruit more LTCs. The company tells its LTCs to promote this website inside their circle of freinds and family. This is not stellar marketing advice.
Advice like this is the reason so many people won't go near MLM with a ten foot pole. What kind of person puts up a website and then only tells people about it? A person trained in internet marketing by an MLM company, that's who. If these people were really learning about internet marketing, they would learn how to get people who are already online looking for vacation ideas to look at their site.
There are some people who are having a lot of success with multi-level marketing, but these are people who are already skilled marketers. They are usually successful selling other products and services too. That is because marketing skills are useful both with internet marketing and face to face marketing. There are people right now who are making full time income by selling products and services over the internet. The only thing they have that other people don't is marketing know-how. Otherwise, they are just ordinary people.
People can learn marketing by getting a college degree, by experimenting and reading marketing books, and by taking an online marketing course. There are quite a few advantages to taking the marketing course.
Online courses are the very definition of flexible. People can go as fast or as slow as they need to. They can learn at any time of day, so they can hold down a regular job, and best of all, there are no core curriculum courses to take. No anthropology or biology, just marketing. Best of all, people taking these online courses don't have to figure out marketing all by themselves.
To recap, my World Ventures review is that although they are an upstanding company, they are not good marketing teachers. They will not teach a person how to be successful with their travel website.
