The iPad is a very versatile device, like being able to do web-browsing, e-mailing, photo storage, music and game playing, word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and display e-books. Yes, other devices can do the same things, some even better.
The dissimilarity between the iPad and all the other wannabes exists in what can be done with the iPad and cannot be achieved by the use of other devices.
