The behaviour of a little guy in my category and also the impact of violent laptop games on him has raised major concerns. He'd been making great progress but suddenly deteriorated and investigation proved his oldsters had reintroduced a violent computer game into the house!
His scenario has taken a twist. This twist adds to the proof that violent pc games impact negatively on children' minds and behaviour. Perhaps in many cases the impact isn't as extreme as this tiny nine year old boy, but if violence and aggression bombards a kid's brain it cannot be a good experience.
Even soldiers, trained for war, become traumatised when being subjected to violence. It may be argued that skilled soldiers expertise real life situations with real blood and guts, real guns and real injuries therefore their trauma is understandable.
But, modern computer graphics are thus realistic and kids become totally engrossed in the activity so while they're taking part in at killing and inflicting injuries it's absolutely real for them... They become entranced by the action on the screen, as if hypnotised. And it's well recognised that hypnotism can have an unimaginable impact on the human mind!
Back to the insufficient 9 year old...
A letter went home... The oldsters' lack of care and their inability or inadequacy in keeping a diet of violence removed from their kids is truly astounding... The mainstream faculty workers had also spoken to his parents requesting inappropriate games and films ought to be disposed of!
When asked the next day what he'd done once school the previous evening he said that he'd hunted for his World War two game but it had been hidden. Oh well, that's smart -- a step in the correct direction!
But, simply talking about the missing game raised his emotional level and he became quite unsettled and anxious once more. He was well on the way to being a terribly mischievous child and losing the plot...
I explained to him why it had been necessary that he could not play the sport any more and the way it created him terribly unhappy. Surprisingly he hadn't had any rationalization from his parents.
He became quite tearful and said he was sorry that he'd been naughty but he missed the sport and needed to play it. He was pacing around, banging his head together with his hand, clearly terribly agitated -- poor little soul. Even the concept of accessing the game sent his anxiety levels catapulting out of the traditional range.
Gradually he settled down and was a nice deal better that morning. Then, in the afternoon he visited mainstream school...
But things did not go well in college -- what had gone wrong?
Things had started alright with work being completed, however then the class was allowed to settle on an activity in free time. Some of the kids wanted play on the computer and the support employee asked him if he needed to hitch in thus off they went for his or her 15 minute activity.
A game site was accessed. There's nothing wrong with that, you may say. Most people would agree -- a faculty's pc system is very regulated where any games are vetted and nothing inappropriate is available.

But, issues started when they had to shut down the machines and move back to class... Have you ever tried stopping a drunk from having a drink? Have you ever seen a person who craves a fix and has no medicine?
This small boy was precisely like the drunk or the drug addict when he had to complete taking part in a game that was far less graphic than those he had previously been subjected to in his home. Even with this innocuous game he was behaving as you would expect an exponent to behave. He simply couldn't cope with being far from his object of addiction.
The remainder of his category had gone to assembly but he was isolated together with his support assistant. He was agitated, verbally aggressive and pacing the space demanding to play the computer game. He said that he wished to shoot guns, kill people and knife people to make them bleed. He was terribly angry and anxious because he'd had to prevent playing. He was behaving simply like a disciple in withdrawal. It had been an awful sight.
He won't be allowed any a lot of pc games for the foreseeable future. True will calm and also the behaviour management methods that were working therefore well will guarantee he starts creating smart progress again.
