Who doesn't love the zest herbs can give to ordinary dishes? Wouldn't it be fantastic if you can have them right away whenever you need them for a recipe? My advice: grow your own herbs, and reap the countless benefits. Today, more and more people are going for natural alternatives like herbs as opposed to pharmaceutical drugs -- they are safer, and it doesn't have side effects.

You can grow your own herbs in two ways -- you can choose to put up a backyard herb garden, or if you have restricted space, it's easy to set up a kitchen herb garden right in your windowsill.. Herbs are relatively easy to grow! And you don't need to be an expert gardener to do it. You just need a few basics to get started -- some tools, a couple of pots, water, sunlight and some loving care, and you'll be whipping dishes laden with delicious herbs in no time!

But to gain more insight on how you can grow your own herbs at home, there are model herb gardens which you can pattern from. Wherever you are, there are lots of herb growers and gardens out there.

I, for one, find a particular herb garden in London fascinating. It is called the Secret Garden which inspired the Bruce Springsteen song not just for its ornamentals but for its herbs as well. If you happen to be in London, I suggest that you visit it.

There are over 5,000 species in this garden but there is a particular spot which I like, the Garden of World Medicine. The way that the herbs are arranged is a amazing sight. It’s a wonder and an art in itself.

The herbs at the Secret Garden include herbs coming from all four corners of the world -- from the Maori of New Zealand and Australia, from the Native North America, Africa, India, Europe, and the Mediterranean. The herbs coming from the Mediterranean are very special. Why? This is mainly because most Mediterranean herbs are found in North American dishes. These herbs flourish in both places as they share the same climate -- not too cold and not too humid either. These herbs are fantastic for the body too!

You really don't have to be an expert to grow a exquisite herb garden. Just let your imagination and imagination shine through. I just know that your herb garden will be a work of art! Soon, you will unlock the power of your herb garden and use it for health, vitality and beauty. So grab your first herb kit, and get started planting. Keep in mind that reap is the best teacher, so don't be discouraged with minor setbacks. Just do everything with passion.
