• Forget carefully determining the correct answer to a tough question – when it comes to CSET study, it’s all about speed. That’s where this tip will majorly come in handy: if you’re not sure of a correct answer and have already eliminated the wrong ones, guess B or C, whichever one is remaining. Statistically speaking, they’re often the correct answers.
• Answer patterns on man-made high school multiple choice tests: bad. Answer patterns on the computerized California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) test: who cares? Don’t concern yourself with these extraneous details – if you’ve answered C a few too many times, it doesn’t automatically mean that you’re wrong.
• Nine times out of ten, “none of the above” turns out to be a wrong answer. To save yourself some time, quickly eliminate this trick answer, as makers of CSET study guides only use it when they’ve run out of ideas for answers.
• There’s a magic time limit for how long you should spend on a CSET test study guide question, and this is it: two minutes. Once you hit that magic two minute mark, take a deep breath and go for the longest answer choice, or use the “B or C” method.
