The Disney World theme park is a tourist attraction that is open on a daily basis all year long. One key point to remember though, is to pay attention to when you are planning a visit. The school holidays in May and December, holiday weekends and the spring break period see a rise in the number of people visiting the attraction. This can make for big crowds and long queues which can result in spending a lot of time waiting. It's best to visit during other times when crowds are smaller.
A major advantage of visiting at off-season times is that accommodation can found at cheaper prices. However be sure to check the program of special events planned at the theme park as accommodation prices can be raised during these. Generally it is considered that some of the best periods to visit are between early September to Mid December and the weeks just prior to Spring Break in March.
The worst seasons to visit Disney World because of the crowds include the Spring Break holiday. At this time huge crowds flock to the resort and traffic conditions can be difficult. You will also find yourself queuing for long periods of time to get on the rides. This is also the case during the summer and December holiday periods, as many tourists arrive at the resort.
Plan your trip to try and avoid the heat and humidity of the summer holidays. Also try and avoid the Christmas holidays when the traffic and large crowds can make for a less pleasant experience. There is also a small insect called 'love bug' which can make a visit very annoying during May and September when there are large numbers of these. If you take these things into consideration the off-season definitely provides the best opportunity for a visit.
Florida has weather which can be unpredictable at times and rain can happen at any time when you visit. This is not a problem as there are many indoor activities that can be enjoyed if the weather is not good. These include Epcot and also Universal Studios and these can be visited during bad weather as the outdoor rides will generally be closed down during bad storms.
Many people prefer not to visit Disney World during the hurricane season to avoid any problems which may occur. Whenever you decide to plan a trip there are two key factors to remember. Firstly arrive early to avoid the queues and secondly get a map of the layout which makes it much easier to find your way around. Disney World is a place of magic and with a little planning you will have a wonderful time.
