Want to run a blog and earn some extra money online? While this is possible (millions of others are doing it as you read this) you shouldn't expect it to happen overnight, or without a concerted effort on your part.
Just starting out on your Internet Marketing career? I would suggest you set-up your very own Blogger blog, why? Because they are free (always good) and are very easy to add content and monetize.
A hosted Wordpress.org blog is widely felt to be the best way to gain respect and credibility for your blogging, but if the $10.00 or so a month is beyond your reach one of the free blogging platforms is the way to go.
Whether you are using a hosted blog or a free one you should choose a niche that you know something about. Why? Because if you are "into" whatever you're going to blog about (your niche) you will find writing content much faster and easier. The trick to easy content creation is knowing your subject well!
You also should keep in mind right from the start how you will monetize your blog. Get into your visitors heads and figure out what they want or need, then your job (as an Internet Marketer) is to supply that want or need (for a price of course!) This is how you will turn your little blog into a money making machine!
So you want to work from your home and make some extra money online? There are many ways to accomplish this, but I think starting your own blog is the best way! This way you will have an online presents, and will have to do some writing, (which you had better get used to.)
If you choose a niche you are passionate about some of your readers will share your passion and become part of your community of like minded individuals. Work within this community, build relationships, cause in the end that's what making money online is all about (to my way of thinking anyways) building relationships, and working with people.
Enjoy your blogging, get good at it, think about traffic and money making opportunities, but don't obsess about it. Who knows you may want to enter a second niche, than a third, heck this could be the start of something big!
