There are hundreds of different types of beauty products out on the market and sometimes it's hard to know just how to use them the right way. If they aren't used right, you will end up with a look that you didn't want, and they can even make you look older, which no woman wants. And, you sure don't want to end up on the "wrong" list by simply using makeup wrong. To make sure that you don't fall into that category, here are six easy to follow tips on using basic types of makeup the right way:
Basic #1: Lip Gloss - This is one area where many women just glob it on and forget about it. In fact, you should wear it minimally so that you don't look like you are dripping with gloss and instead have a dewy look to your lips. One light coat should be all that you need, and there is no need to go over your lips again.
Basic #2: Lip Liners - This is one of those beauty products that is almost always used incorrectly. These should mainly be used for shading your lips and only a shade away from the lipstick that you plan to use. Don't use them to outline a completely darker color than the rest of your lips.
Basic #3: Eye Pencils - Eye pencils can be a hard choice and you don't always want to go with the cheapest one. You want to find one that is soft, so it glides along your eyelid. Pencils that are harder and require harder sharpeners are normally not good to use and they can actually hurt your eyelids when applied. Also, those pencils that are harder also take more to blend in with eyeshadows as well as blend in to your other makeup.
Basic #4: Mascara - You will find this staple of beauty products in just about every woman's makeup bag because it is easy to use and can be as dramatic or subtle as you like. But, you want to make sure to choose the right shade for your hair and skin tone, as some colors don't contrast well, which is a mistake many women make. Also, make sure that any globs that come out of the mascara are brushed out quickly so that they don't dry.
Basic #5: Eyeshadow - You want a good quality eyeshadow so that you aren't using tons of it just to see it. Also, you want to make sure that you have the right shade for your skin and eyes. Keep in mind that no matter what color your skin and eyes are, silvery eyeshadows will make your eyes look brighter and help revive bags and dark spots under your eyes.
Basic #6: Color Correctors - For some women, they use these on a daily basis when they don't need to. Color correctors are only made to be used for those that have ruddy complexions or problem blood vessels in their face. But, when used without a reason, they are noticeable and look terrible. If you use them, make sure that you have reason to use them.
When you follow these tips on using basic beauty products, it is so much easier to perfect your look and ensure that you don't look older or fall into the "wrong" category. Also, you can then build on making sure that your makeup is perfect and you don't have to worry about messing up too much any longer.
