Do you have no idea where to start creating your own letterheads? Well, you have come to the right place. In this tutorial for basic letterhead printing, I am going to teach you three ways to create your own color letterheads from the computer. We will discuss here how to create letterheads with a Wizard, Manually through word processors and online letterhead printing. Let us start with the easiest.
• Using the Wizard from select applications – The easiest way to create your letterhead is through a “Wizard”. Of course I do not mean hiring a magician here. I am talking about those software Wizards in desktop publishing applications. These wizards basically ask you a series of questions as well as show you different options to choose from about your color letterheads.
By activating this feature and answering all the questions about your letterheads, you should be able to create your own custom letterheads within seconds. As long as you have the text information and logo image at hand, it should be very easy to have that color letterhead integrated into your text document. Common office text document applications such as Microsoft Works and OpenOffice.org Writer have letterhead wizards, or letter wizards. These are the ones you might want to use to help you easily create your own letterheads.
• Creating letterheads manually in word processors – Now, you also have an option to create your custom letterheads manually in word processors. To do this, all you have to do is to be picky once you open a new text document for editing. For example, in Microsoft word, you usually have an option to open a blank document or to open one based on a template. In the most current version of the software, you can choose from a list of templates for text documents that have business letterheads already set.
All you need to do is to choose the category for business letters or letterheads, and then just use the style or theme of the letterhead that you want. This should then load up the template for your use, and you can just edit the document with your information as usual, just like any other text document.
This of course will take more effort from you, but you will be able to control every single aspect of the design. You can insert your own color images, place in differently styled fonts and layout the whole thing any which way you want. You can even download advanced professional looking letterhead templates if you want.
Most new word processors these days have this feature. The ones of note are of course Microsoft Word, OpenOffice.org Writer and the iWorks suite for the Mac. All these more or less have the same basic functionality. They just have different features and interfaces.
• Online design and printing of letterheads – Finally, if you are a little bit adventurous with your letterhead printing, you can try investing in online design and printing for your letterheads.
Some online printing companies out there have actual online design applications that let you design, customize and enhance letterheads all from your Internet browser. No software installation necessary and you can go straight to printing. Just follow their online design and ordering procedures and you will be done in minutes! They should be able to print many copies of your letterheads and deliver them to you within a day or so.
So if you have little time to create your letterheads and don’t want to invest tin buying software, these online letterhead printers are your best bet. They are convenient, easy to deal with and relatively affordable.
So those are the three major ways to create letterheads using your computer. Hopefully you should be able to pick the right one for you.
