In cleaning carpets, the best method to use is steam cleaning. It is done by using hot water extraction. A truck is mounted with a unit that boils water under high pressure. The water is then poured out into the carpet, and sucks it back again, including all the dirt and grim.

Of all approaches available in cleaning carpets, carpets steam cleaning is the best for a few reasons. One, the high pressure to generate hot water is effective in killing many types of bacteria, fungus, dust mites, and molds. Before the water is extracted, it is heated to as high as 200 degrees Fahrenheit, to produce the best steam vapor that can clean effectively.

The heated vapor is essential in cleaning carpets and other hard areas and materials because it can break down the bond between the surface of the carpet and the stains or dirt that adheres to the carpet.

Steam cleaning machines are also capable of doing dry steaming. By dry steaming, the hot water contains less moisture, so that when you spray it onto the carpet, the surface can be rubbed, scrubbed and even wiped by an ordinary towel.

Second, when used correctly, carpet steaming does not leave behind any residue from detergent soaps and other substances, used in disinfecting and cleaning. This is simply because the steam machines do not need to use detergents and cleaning agents.

While these cleaning agents are effective in disinfecting, the chemicals within them can be harmful to your when inhaled. They can damage your liver, lungs and brain. However, with a steam machine, the hot vapor is sufficient to kill and disinfect the carpet and other areas that need cleaning.

Third, because it uses high pressure, steaming cleans the carpet more deeply than other methods. Vacuum cleaners can clean thoroughly as well, but steam cleaning gets into the pores and lift up the dirt that is otherwise hard to remove by conventional vacuum cleaners.

Fourth, steam machines do not only remove harmful bacteria, fungus, and molds. It is also good at removing and foul odor on the carpet. If you have pets around your house, it is unavoidable to have urine wastes and fecal wastes to be spread on your carpet. These wastes can really bring stinky odors which can be hard to remove.

With steam cleaning, however, you can be assured that foul odors from urinal, fecal and rotten foods will be removed.

Using steam machines for cleaning rugs, carpets, the grout between bathroom and kitchen tiles, kitchen sinks, and floors is becoming popular not just in the United States, but also in Europe and some parts of Asia as well. It is also convenient and less expensive, considering that you do not have to pay additional expenses for the cleaning detergents.

If you are planning to change your wallpapers, you may consider using steam cleaning to ensure that your walls are free of any debris, dusts and bacteria that when left behind can multiply and become a breeding ground.
