One of the primary problems with computer systems is heat. When the computer gets warm the interior components like the hard disk along with processor may at some point break if it becomes too hot. Lowering the temperature inside the computer will help it last considerably longer. A good way to decrease temperature would be to keep the computer thoroughly dusted. Having less dust it will have more circulation for cooling off the components.

The first thing you have to do would be to dust out the vents that are on the machine. You'll want to have a can of compressed air and blow the dirt out. Don't forget to completely unplug the computer first prior to carrying this out as you might have some static that might result in your machine more troubles. Lightly dust away all the fans and vents you see. Be cautious as quite a bit can come out in case you have not done this in awhile.

When you've got a desktop personal computer, open the cover to get the dirt out from the interior. Frequently you may have no less than an inch of dust that should be removed. Although this is an awful process, it makes sure that this dirt won't block up the vents in the future.

In the future place yourself on a regular routine to use the pressurized air at least on a weekly basis. Use this on your keyboard as well to remove an additional rubbish in it especially if using a notebook.

If you wish to see the actual benefits from cleaning up the dust, get yourself a application called SpeedFan that will display internal temperatures. Have this information before dusting and immediately after to see how many degrees cooler your machine is following going through this procedure.

Ultimately, being free of dust can certainly make your computer last considerably longer than it would with all the parts coated by airborne dirt and dust.
