If you’ve ever heard of the acne medication Accutane, you may have heard that it causes serious long term side effects, including Crohn’s disease and Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Hundreds of people have experienced these problems after taking Accutane to fight their cystic acne. There have, in fact, been so many settlements in favor of the plaintiffs against Accutane that the drug has been pulled off the market! If that isn’t power, then what is?
If you or someone you love has been harmed by Accutane and has developed long term bowel related side effects, the first thing you need to do is to talk with an experienced medical lawyer. You don’t just want any lawyer. Here are a few criteria to look for in the lawyer you choose:
Experience: This is key to winning a case against a huge medical company. You need a law firm that knows how to win cases like these and that has won similar cases in the past.
Dedication: It’s also a good idea to work with a law firm that has a whole team devoted to Accutane related cases. There’s a ton of research to be done, and if some is already done before you come on the scene, it will save tons of time!
The Right Type of Rate: Many are afraid to bring an Accutane lawsuit because of the cost they think is involved. However, you can find lawyers who will charge you only if they win your case. This is an excellent, risk-free way to get your voice heard.
