Safety is first and foremost the issue when toys for babies are being tackled. We can’t certainly give them toys that contain small parts that kids can swallow. This is the primary reason why you would often see a notice on toys’ packages recommending it for children who are on the given age range. When we purchase toys, we often opt for educational ones. We usually give them puzzles or building blocks that will allow them to sharpen their minds. However, what we often overlook is that there are toys that focus on creativity, and such toys can teach kids to do things in a particular way with a room for experimentation.
Toys like Lego, construction blocks and wooden trail tracks are some example of toys that could stimulate your child’s imagination. They give kids endless ways of putting up something out of nothing. You might be surprised on what can your kid create. You can also go for toy kitchens, doll houses, or farm houses. Toys such as these allow you to engage in your kid’s secret world when you do a “pretend play” with them. You can take the lead in the pretend play so your child would warm up. Once they do, you’ll see that they would amuse themselves for hours while growing their imagination.
If you want to be your kid’s playmate, you can fill a box with clothes of role-playing. Load it with things that possess flexibility such as yards of bright fabric. It can serve as a cape or a magic carpet. A tin foil can be a telescope or a sword. It is in fact more helpful for your kid to imagine the items in its glory rather than for our kid to put on the common store-bought costume.
Or you can unleash the artist in your kids without spending hundreds of dollars. You can just find a cardboard box and make a space ship out of it. It can also be an improvise store. You just have to add a sign or punch out the window. Or you can make a school bus out of it by making upturned chairs.
Flickering a toddler’s imagination begins with modifying adult attitudes. Developing their imagination helps them to become better learner. Kids with vivid imagination have astonishing ideas. They build greater and wider vocabulary than an average kid. Moreover, they develop better problem-solving skills. This enables them to play and work independently, and they tend to have a healthy outlook for life. These skills aid the kids to do better in life when they grow up.
