The very first few weeks of summer are a magical time of playing outside, sleeping (only a little bit) later and lazy afternoons, but as the heat and the routine of summer set in, often, so does the phrase "Mom, I'm bored"! Summer is a great time to take on a decorating project and also it is fun to freshen up the children's room before school begins again. In case you are in search of an innovative and flexible approach to add colour to your kid's room - without breaking your budget - check out Do-It-Yourself Mural Patterns.

You can buy great patterns these days and they arrive full size, which means you will not need a projector. They come complete with instructions including a paint-by-number guide to help you create playful wall art to match any decor. Best of all, the patterns come in many different shapes, sizes and prices so you select the amount to paint. It is possible to add a tiny butterfly or your child's name over the bed or an entire jungle into your playroom! Here are some fun ways to get children involved in decorating their own room this summer using different wall patterns.

1. Have the child help select the colours: Whether you’re planning to purchase new bedding or creating a new look with existing bedding, children may help match colours and colour on a copy of the enclosed "paint-by-number" guide which comes with the Mural pack to help you decide which colours go where. Be creative! Why don't you paint a purple monkey or even a pink elephant - your youngster will love showing off your handy-work along with their idea!

2. Create a spot for brand new art daily: Use chalk board paint to fill in the outline of a cat or frog and even a racing car. Then your kids can use coloured chalk to draw new frog faces, invent new butterfly wings or produce and re-create the racing car of their dreams!

3. Create a hand-painted keepsake: In the event you are not confident with your painting abilities or want to make a painting to keep, purchase a couple of pre-mounted canvases from a local craft store. Using craft paint or paint pens plus a Mural pattern, create your own personal hand-painted wall art to hang on your child's wall with a colourful ribbon. You could even give your child their very own canvas to paint with you. There is certainly many ways in which to entertain the children, but in my opinion, I think painting a Mural for themselves gives them pride along with a sense of achievement.

Author Resource:

Painting peoples houses has been my line of work for more years than I care to remember. So I thought it was time I attempted to provide a few ideas to help people out who might not have the money to pay for to pay a lot to entertain the offspring. I would also like to use this opportunity to thank the ' painter london ' company who have given me help and advise all through the numerous years that I’ve been working as a painter and decorator.
