Uniform programs are an amazingly effective and amazing way to bring employees together, to make your consumer or client feel at ease, and to control the appearance of those employees. Many companies prefer utilizing uniform programs because they simply work. The results are easily witnessed, and you will discover you can save money when you design your own uniform program.

Designing garments for the workplace can actually be a lot of fun if you have complete control of the creative process. Many franchises have a strict dress code involving a top, hat, shoes, and/or bottoms. That does not mean you cannot have fun though because there are ways to ensure your personality shines through with every design.

How can you design your own uniform program?

Choose what is included

Choosing what will be included in the programs you develop is the first step. Often, this is dictated by the budget. However, some employers require their employees to purchase the uniforms. Needless to say, it is important to remember employees will want to keep it cheap.

Choose from a variety of tops such as shirts, jerseys, tank tops, button down shirts, and/or polos. Once you have the tops, consider going lower. You can customize pants, shorts, skirts, skorts, slacks, capris, and other types of bottoms with ease. Then consider accessories such as footwear and headgear. Remember, the price will increase with each piece of apparel or each accessory you add to the programs you choose.

Decide on the design

Once you know what will be part of your program, you will be able to choose your designs. Generally, this should reflect your business or company directly. Ideas would include logos, mottos, and even employee names. Of course, you can have fun if permitted. Show a serious nature or even a playful side of your own personality. How you customize your garments will depend a great deal on your industry and industry standards.

Choosing the options such as placement, fonts, thread colors, and other such options can be fun. However, you may become addicted to customizing garments online. Yes, customizing apparel is just that fun.

Click your button

Now that you have picked everything, take a look at the virtual image. The virtual image is a good representation of what you will receive. Some companies have a minimum order, but other companies will not have a minimum order. Look for the designing company that fits your specific needs.

One thing to remember is that colors do vary from one monitor to the other. While you may not think candy apple red is pink at all, when you receive those candy apple red pants, they sure do look hot pink. If you are not sure, try a single garment first!

When you design your own uniform program, you have oodles of options. Designing your own garments can be rewarding a fun. However, remember to keep it real. Choose the designing process that works for you and your needs.
