These days, there are many people who like to complain that they don't have enough time or their lives are very unorganized. Well, let me tell you that we all have 24 hours a day (no more no less).
My point is... we should not say that we don't have enough time because we do have 24 hours a day. But what we don't have is the skill to manage time and organize things structurally.
We're a species that functions better when we have structure in our lives. Without structure, we live in utter chaos.
Therefore, it is very important that we learn how to organize our lives. When you develop good organizational skills, you will never complain that you are running out of time again.
If you have trouble organizing things, just focus on organizing only one aspect of your life first. This can help you to begin on the rest of it. This nice chain reaction helps things fall into place the way they should.
One stumbling block that stops people from learning organization skills is of course time. Many are not willing to invest the time to learn the skills. This is a big mistake in my opinion, because by investing time to learn how to organize, you will save a whole lot more time. So, learning organizational skills is actually a time well spent.
Here are some time saving tips to help organize your life:
1. Pace yourself. You don't have to do everything all at once. Take care of one thing at a time. A lot of unorganized people have clothes lying across the floor and shoes in strange places. You could contain such a mess by picking those things up as you pass by them. Don't wait to do it all at once; otherwise it may never get done.
2. Make an action plan to do only certain tasks in a day so that you don't get overwhelmed by too many chores at hand at the same time. Just focus on those things that you can see around you and get them organized.
For example, make a plan to clean up your work desk. This will only take 15 to 20 minutes. It is a lot more achievable if you focus on doing one thing at a time rather than trying to do too many things at once.
3. Storage. Invest in some functional storage containers. There are also some nice storage boxes that are decorative, too. Fill them as needed and when convenient. Keep a storage box handy in your closet. As you find things you don't use or wear anymore, put them into the box. Before you know it, your closet will be cleaned out!
4. Set rules. If you have a family and children living together, then you need to make it clear that there are house rules and obligation so that everyone share the responsibility to take care of the house, clean up and keep the house tidy.
5. Use racks and shelves. Make a place for everything so that everything has its own place.
Organization skills are crucial in helping you to succeed in life. If you can organize your life well, you can organize your business, family and time as well. You will be able to get things done in a much more efficient way. You will also find that you can achieve more with less time.
