It can be hard to choose the perfect gifts for the bride on her special day, but with the rapidly expanding online market-place you’re sure to find a splendid present in no time! From traditional keepsakes to fun trinkets, the possibilities are enormous.

Ideally, gifts for the bride will suit the tone of the event; for example, for a formal church wedding you might want to consider something like a crockery set or a cookbook, both of with will come in very handy when the bride sets up house for her and her new husband. You could consider engraving if the bride is a closer friend or family member, although this can be very expensive (but well worth it!).

If the gathering is more relaxed, you could consider one of the growing range of novelty gifts for the bride like flip-flops inscribed with the message ‘Just Married’. These are sure to go down a treat and make everybody giggle! Other amusing gifts include a bikini or towel with the same words. These are also available as gifts for the groom, so you could buy matching presents, which will certainly make the honeymoon more exciting! With a choice of colours, a perfect match shouldn't be tricky to find.

Shared tokens can also be brilliant, especially if they have sentimental value. A great start could be a paperweight or other trinket with a lovely message that can be treasured for years to come. Appropriate sayings include ‘Congratulations’, ‘Just Married’ and even ‘Wedded Bliss’. Photo frames can also be touching gifts for the bride, and for a really personal touch you could insert a photo of the happy couple themselves. Any newly-weds would be proud to display a photograph of themselves together, and will serve as a fantastic reminder of their special day.

Superstition can play a large part in wedding ceremonies, and if she believes in good luck, there are gifts for the bride that can bring good fortune upon the couple. Lucky horseshoes are believed to have special powers, which are intensified by hanging them over a door-frame. A lucky sixpence can also ward off bad luck, so this will make an ideal present for the apprehensive bride.

Remember to package gifts for the bride in style, as this can make a big difference to how well-received the present is. A neutral coloured paper or gift-bag will be sure to offend no-one, and not clash with the colour scheme or theme of the wedding.

Any extra touches like a ribbon or bow are sure to be appreciated, and will help your present to stand out from the crowd!

The worst type of gifts for the bride are presents that are dull and uninspiring, and have limited practical use. For example, soaps and toiletries, although pleasant, are not exciting or memorable enough to be given on the most important day of the bride-to-be’s life. With so many options, there really is no longer a need for gifts for the bride to be uninteresting and flat; it only takes a little effort to find the ideal gift for that wonderful lady on such an enormous occasion.
