We only have one planet to live in, Earth. All of its beauty is a gift to all of us who walked and roamed along its calm and sometimes stormy path. We are not just here to eat, work and sleep and seek better things for our individual purposes. Each of us has a reason for our existence and we have many obligations to fulfill in our lifetime.
We are here to experience life in all its glory and wonder, to wake up each morning and see the sun, and give thanks for the solar power it provides allows us to be alive every single day. The sun has been present for millions and millions of years and it never tires of giving us light during the day and providing us light through the moon during the night. Without the sun, life the world would be in total darkness and any form of life will perish.
But how many of the million people that inhabit this earth look up each day and just say thanks or give appreciation to its presence up there? How many have wondered about its importance to all living things? How many have realized the significance of its solar power? How many have basked in its warmth, and have taken advantage of its health contribution to the function of the human body?
All of us, at some point in our lives have surely looked up and said our thanks for the presence of that shining ball of fire up there. We, each of us, have basked in its warmth after those cold and rainy days. Each one of us must have known that early morning sunlight is good for our health and we must expose ourselves to it at a certain time of the day. Even babies from the time they were born are also exposed to the rays of the sun for good health.
If the sun fails to rise for just a single day, everybody would miss its presence. Darkness would cover the earth and we would all complain and fear all the possible implications. It is just fitting then that we should not take for granted its presence every single day that it is up there. Many photographers have taken different pictures of the rising and the setting of the sun and these are just some of the many ways that the human race has shown its appreciation and gratitude for such creation. Painters have it drawn and framed and displayed for all to see. Poets and philosophers have written meaningful poems and verses about its grandeur.
The sun s solar power has meant different things for many people. It represents hope in times of failure. It signifies a chance to start again after a tragedy. It gives mankind reason to wake up and look forward to another beautiful day. It is the giver of life to all living things, sustaining growth and processes that are taking place in the earth s cycle and in every living thing.
